The Feelin' Groovy Book Fair Was Far Out, Man
Hey Man,
(I'm really going to miss talking like that..)
Thanks so much to all who bought books, made wishlists, helped set up, sent students, encouraged our Family Events, and helped tear down the Feelin' Groovy Book Fair! As Mrs. Young says, it really takes a village to put on a book fair! (And as I say, just put on my tombstone: Here lies Mrs. Fournier. Chocolate Calculator isn't really made of chocolate. $3.99 plus tax.)
Congratulations to Leandra who won our hula hoop contest, to Alejandra who won our costume contest, and to Aiden, who won our estimation contest!
Also, thanks for pausing on checkout & lessons while we try to raise money for our students! We really appreciate your flexibility. Check out these facts:
$6,46607. worth of merchandise sold
$1616.52 earned for author visits & new library books
70 books purchased as gifts for teachers - hooray for classroom libraries!
Peace, Love & Reading,
Mrs. Fournier, Mrs. Young & Mrs. Vetter

War That Saved My Life: Book Club Wrap Up
As always, Mrs. Peyton and I adored spending time with our special book club friends. This book club group was especially responsible in staying up with their reading, and also had the most insightful things to say about this amazing book. We celebrated our last meeting with a tea party, because there was a tea party motif in the book. What fun! A few weeks later, 5th graders were invited to jot down their favorite elementary school memory. Mrs. Peyton and I were so touched to see that one student chose this book club as his fondest memory. What a compliment.
