"The Grinch Who Moved Library Books"

The Forest North Elementary Library is excited to have a group of student library aides this year called Fournier's Friends, because they help Mrs. Fournier, the librarian. Fournier's Friends are a group of dedicated students who work in the library. We wrote, filmed and edited this movie together. Thanks to Dr. Seuss for inspiring us with his book "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas." This movie aired at our Dr. Seuss' Birthday Party at Forest North on 3/6/2012.

Jacob's Letter

One of my favorite parts of being a librarian is that I get to work with every single student in our whole school! Some students write me notes and letters, and I keep them in a special place, and if I ever feel overwhelmed or frustrated, I look at them and it makes me remember why I love my job! Here's a special letter I got on Monday from Jacob. What a nice letter, Jacob! Thank you for thinking of me and making my day.
(Dear Mrs. Fournier, You are the best library teacher. You always help us find books and tell us where books are. Is it a hard job to be a library teacher? PS I want to be a library teacher they're cool. From Jacob)

94 students attend Dr. Seuss' Birthday Party

Last Night was Dr. Seuss' Birthday Party. 94 students attended a story rotation, had milk and cookies, entered in a raffle for 9 prizes including special activities with teachers and gift certificates from neighborhood restaurants, and finally, our Dr. Seuss film festival. We watched movies directed by Mrs. Lajaunie, Mrs. Fournier and her student library crew, Fournier's Friends, Ms. Bell, and 5th grader Andy James. We ended with our epic version of "Horton Hears a Who." Check out our last entry for a preview of it and more information on the stars.

Dr. Seuss' birthday party tomorrow night!

Tomorrow, the library is throwing Dr. Seuss a birthday party! Meet us here on Tuesday, 3/6/12, at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. We'll enjoy a silly Seussy story rotation, followed by cookies and milk. Then, we'll dim the lights and enjoy some short films based on the work of Dr. Seuss, directed and starring Forest North students and staff! Please watch this preview for the staff's version of "Horton Hears a Who." The preview is a Photostory, but the actual film itself is entirely live action and the directorial debut of Mrs. Lajaunie! Watch the whole movie tomorrow night!
